Humidity sensors

What is a humidity sensor?

Humidity sensors are devices that detect and measure the amount of humidity or water in the surrounding air. They come in many sizes and shapes, ranging from handheld sensors to small components built into air quality systems. Readings from these sensors allow you to make adjustments if the air becomes too dry or humid. Humidity sensors often include temperature readings because relative humidity depends on air temperature. They are used in a wide range of industries and settings, including agriculture, manufacturing, data centers, meteorology, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). A humidity sensor detects changes in temperature or electrical currents in the air, usually using a humidity probe connected to a receiving device. There are three types of humidity sensors: relative humidity (RH) sensors, absolute humidity (AH) sensors, and thermal humidity sensors.
